GAS TYPE (LPG/PUB)

Gas Type:

Each gas hob model is manufactured specifically for either PUB or/and LPG. It is your onerous to know the type of gas you are using at home and select the gas type accordingly for the hob you are planning to purchase. Please take note that buying a hob with the wrong gas type cannot be installed for safety reasons.

PUB/Town gas refers to piped gas that is delivered to your house. Also known as city gas.

LPG refers to bottled cylinder gas.

Eg. One cannot install a PUB Gas hob with a LPG gas supply.

CAN I CHANGE FROM GAS HOB TO INDUCTION HOB?

Yes, you can, provided all conditions below are met:
1. Sufficient Electrical Loading to the required amp of the new induction hob
2. The cut out size on your counter top fulfills the fit out of the new induction hob.

Most induction hobs will have a minimum space requirement underneth (or air gaps) to prevent overheating (oven and hob both in use at the same time)..

GAS HOB INDUCTION HOB
  • Gas is affected by the surrounding air, in a windy environment, you see your flame blow here and there, your water takes longer to boil, your food takes longer to heat up.
  • BETTER heat control
  • Majority of the heat goes into your pots/pans
  • cant cook on ceramic pots
  • MUST USE magnetic pots
  • Just be aware that built in induction hobs do produce heat and need ventillation space underneath
